Job summary

Zeidler Architecture in Calgary is seeking an Intermediate Architect to join our Calgary Studio and lead design and delivery across all project phases. The role emphasizes collaboration, coordination with consultants, and direct client engagement in an in‑office environment.

The candidate should bring strong design skills, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of professional architectural experience.
• Registered with or pursuing registration with a Canadian architectural association (OAA, AAA, AIBC).
• Strong conceptual design skills including freehand sketching, 3D modeling, and graphic presentation.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports project execution across all design phases, ensuring quality and timelines.
• Assists with budgets, schedules, and work plans.
• Engages in design development, coordination with consultants, and client communication.
• Serves as Project Manager or supports senior staff in scope, schedule, and budgets.
• Supports or leads preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and responses to RFPs.
• Participates in contract review meetings and helps with risk mitigation.
• Participates in and supports creation of conceptual and schematic design ideas with strong visuals.
• Leads or assists development of contract drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with office standards and codes.
• Coordinates submission drawings for authority approvals and tender documentation.
• Ensures technical quality using Revit and CAD.
• Supports quality control and internal design reviews.
• Prepares and manages project documentation (minutes, transmittals, authority applications).
• Maintains project filing systems and coordinates with consultants and authorities.
• Assists with scheduling, resource planning, and milestone tracking.
• Manages RAIC contracts and fee proposals with senior staff.
