Your Opportunity

Dillon’s Atmospheric Services discipline seeks an Intermediate Air Quality Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will help expand Dillon’s air quality services in Ontario, including delivering current projects, engaging new clients, and building a dynamic team to collaborate within Dillon’s Atmospheric Services group.

This position can be based at any of our Ontario offices: Toronto, North York, Ottawa, Guelph, Kitchener, Chatham, Hamilton, Kingston, London, Oakville, Windsor. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangements to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities
What Your Day Will Look Like
Project Management & Design
  • Manage air quality projects across various sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, municipal, and transportation.
  • Support junior staff technically on project work such as monitoring, modeling, abatement strategies, and liaising with regulators.
  • Oversee and review regulatory projects like ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
Business Development
  • Coordinate and implement business development activities, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client relations.
  • Collaborate with client managers and business leads to pursue air quality opportunities.
  • Travel as needed for business purposes.
Learning & Development
  • Commit to ongoing professional growth and self-development.
  • Mentor and support the career development of junior staff.
  • Participate in professional associations and committees to enhance Dillon’s profile.
Qualifications
What You Will Need to Succeed
  • Degree in environmental or chemical engineering or related field.
  • P.Eng. designation with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or air quality.
  • Established relationships with local regulators such as MECP.
Experience
  • Proven experience in emission inventory development, estimates, dispersion modeling (AERMOD, CALPUFF, CALRoads), and regulatory reporting.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations at federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
  • Experience preparing air impact assessments supporting ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
  • Knowledge of NPRI and GHG reporting programs.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a solution-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with GHG quantification and reporting is an asset.
  • Familiarity with MECP land use planning guidelines is also an asset.
