Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is seeking an Intermediate Accountant for a 3-month contract in SE Calgary. The role requires fluency with Oracle, working towards CPA, and full cycle accounting experience. Hybrid in-office with 4 days onsite and 1 day WFH.

The position offers a 3-month term with potential for extension or permanent placement, and compensation of $45.00-$50.00 hourly. Candidates should have post-secondary accounting/finance education and experience in a related engineering or energy context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting.
• Working towards CPA certification.
• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
• Fluency with Oracle ERP and MS Excel.
• Experience with internal/external audits is a plus and engineering/energy exposure is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and other GL transactions with documentation.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and support close activities.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses and schedules for reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure audit-ready records.
• Support audits and monitor controls using Oracle and reporting tools.

Our client is actively hiring an Intermediate Accountant to join their finance team asap. This is a 3-month contract with the chance to go permanent. Perfect person for this role has fluency with Oracle, is working towards their CPA, and has full cycle accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, allocations, and other general ledger transactions while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules while assisting with financial statement and corporate reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to research transactions, resolve accounting issues, and maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records.
• Support audits, monitor accounting controls, identify process improvements, and use Oracle and reporting tools to ensure accurate financial data and compliance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience with exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, month-end, year-end, and financial reporting
• Working towards your CPA
• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
• Fluency with Oracle ERP and MS Excel
• Any experience with internal and external audits will be an asset
