Job summary

Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) invites applications for an Integrated Case Manager within the Crisis & Support team. The role requires compassionate, dynamic individuals who can work independently and with a multidisciplinary team to provide specialized case management for clients affected by sexual violence.

Starting from 60,000 CAD per year, 35 hours/week, fixed-term up to 14 months, with a benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years related experience; degree preferred; Master’s considered an asset.
  • Experience conducting needs and risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Ability to manage a busy client caseload and work with diverse populations.
  • Strong collaboration with external services and advocacy for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify client risks, strengths, and goals.
  • Develop individualized case plans with clients.
  • Assist with barriers to access referrals and resources.
  • Collaborate with external supports to address barriers and advocate for clients.
  • Evaluate case progress and adapt plans to changing needs.
  • Provide psychoeducation on trauma, coping strategies, and relationships.
  • Support client emotional regulation and transitions out of the program.

Integrated Case Manager

Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) is a dynamic agency that focuses on providing sexual violence counselling and education services to Calgary and surrounding areas. The Integrated Case Manager is a part of the Crisis & Support team. The successful candidate will be a compassionate, dynamic, and flexible individual who is able to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialized case management.

This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week, fixed-term employment contract beginning upon the successful candidate’s start date and continuing until the permanent staff member returns from maternity leave, for a maximum of 14 months. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services. If you have a great attitude and possess an anti-oppressive/feminist analysis of sexual violence, this may be the job for you.

Key Responsibilities of the Integrated Case Manager:

  • Conducting thorough needs assessments to identify client risks, strengths, and goals
  • Developing individualized case plans in collaboration with clients
  • Assisting with barriers and concerns identified through the assessment process to ensure access to needed referrals and resources
  • Working collaboratively with external services/supports to address barriers to clients accessing services and providing advocacy on behalf of clients as needed
  • Conducting ongoing evaluation of case plan progress and adapting to changing needs and goals as necessary
  • Delivering psychoeducation to enhance clients’ understanding of sexual violence, the impact of trauma, and coping strategies
  • Supporting clients in developing emotional regulation and coping skills
  • Exploring counselling readiness for clients interested in clinical counselling
  • Supporting client transition out of the Integrated Case Management program to other programs/services, both internal and external
  • Completing required documentation in a timely manner, including client records
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting program specific data for evaluation purposes
  • Participating in a number of on-call shifts after hours over the course of the year as part of a rotation

*Successful candidates will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends and may need to provide services to rural areas surrounding Calgary. Access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.

The successful applicants will have the following qualifications:

  • A degree in social/human services with a minimum of three years related experience; Bachelor of Social Work degree and registration with a regulating body are preferred; Master’s degree an asset
  • Ability to manage a busy client caseload
  • Strong experience in conducting assessments (needs assessments, risk assessments) and completing safety plans.
  • Strong understanding of sexual violence trauma and its impact; experience working in sexual violence service delivery would be an asset
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills with clients and other service providers
  • Strong crisis intervention skills
  • Understanding of systemic barriers and discrimination
  • Strong critical thinking, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution skills and an ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to maintain strong professional boundaries
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks and deadlines
  • A strong working knowledge of data collection is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources and supports within Calgary and surrounding areas
  • Knowledge of Alberta College of Social Workers Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, including a strong understanding of the duty to report
