Definity Financial Corporation is seeking an Intermediate Representative, Subrogation to join our team in Montreal. If you have strong customer focus and solid communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills, we'd like to know!

Reporting to the National Subrogation Unit Team Leader, the Subrogation Representative is accountable to investigate and negotiate the recovery owed to Definity from the responsible third parties.

Qualifications

• AMF Personal insurance license (5b) and Commercial license (5a) required.
• 3-5 years of claims handling, including subrogation, negotiation and litigation.
• Bilingual in English and French is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze claims for subrogation potential and determine recovery outcome.
• Identify and pursue all potential responsible parties.
• Prepare files and determine the amount of recovery from the claims file.
• Contact third parties or insurers to initiate settlement negotiations.
• Manage subrogation litigation matters across Canada, including strategy and budget.
• Participation in legal proceedings when required.
• Manage a large volume of claims files and subrogation projects as needed.
• Increase subrogation awareness and support claims partners across Canada.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Intermediate Representative, Subrogation to join our team. If you havestrongcustomer focus coupled with well-developed communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills, we'd like to know!

These types of claims will include personal and commercial property and auto losses received from claims offices across Canada.

What to expect

• Review and analyze claims for subrogation potentialanddetermine the ultimate probable outcome of recovery
• Identify and pursue all potential responsible parties
• Prepare files and documents as well as determining the amount of recovery from the claims file
• Contact third parties, third party insurers or lawyers to initiate settlement negotiations
• Manage subrogation related litigation matters across Canada, including file strategy and budget
• Participation in legal proceedings when required
• Managea large volume of claims files and other subrogation projects as needed
• Increase subrogation awareness and provide support to our claims partners across Canada

What you bring

• AMF Personal insurance license (5b) required and Commercial insurance license (5a) required.
• The Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of claims handling experience, including subrogation, negotiation, and litigation, with preference given to those who have managed subrogation files.
• Must be bilingual in both written and spoken English/French
• University degree, a 2-year college diploma or working towards your CIP designation, would be an asset
• Proficient in Word & Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional and courteous in all interactions
• Ability to work independently and make decisions quickly when required

Salary Range:

$51,300 - $94,400

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
