Job summary

Definity Financial Corporation is seeking an Int Representative for Property Claims Level 1 in Ontario. The role involves accepting claims, validating coverage, and maintaining files across hybrid office/remote environments.

Responsibilities include processing payments, initiating salvages, and supporting catastrophic losses across Ontario. A university degree or CIP designation is preferred, with bilingual English/French a plus.

Qualifications

  • Able to participate in catastrophic loss duties across Ontario if needed
  • Licensed in NB, PEI, Newfoundland would be an asset

What can you expect from the role?
  • Accepting notice of claim and working with the customer and preferred Vendors to resolve the claim quickly and efficiently
  • Confirming policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of the policy
  • Maintaining detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
  • Processing claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimant's entitlement
  • Initiating salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files
  • Assist in managing the property queues
  • You are available to work within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST
What you bring to the role?
  • A university degree, 2-year college diploma or CIP designation would be an asset
  • Licensed in New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland would be an asset
  • Experience in auto or property claims (knowledge of property is an asset)
  • Familiarity with CICS and CDS system
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Actively pursuing CIP designation
  • Must be available to participate in catastrophic loss duties across Ontario (potentially on a national basis) if support is required by other regions
  • Bilingual capabilities (French and English) would be an asset
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Able to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary range is $50,200 - $92,500

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
