Job summary

Definity Financial Corporation in Canada is seeking an experienced Auto Claims professional to manage complex and commercial auto claims while delivering exceptional customer service. You will explain the process, interpret policy wordings, and collaborate with brokers, clients, and vendors to resolve claims.

The role requires 3+ years of auto claims experience, strong bilingual communication, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment within a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and French with strong communication skills.
  • University degree or college diploma; CIP designation preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of automobile physical damage claims experience.
  • Knowledge of tort and DCPD provinces.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with claims processes and policy wordings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, courteous, accurate and fair claims service to all customers.
  • Manage complex and/or commercial auto claims.
  • Explain the claim process clearly to customers.
  • Interpret and apply policy wordings to determine coverage.
  • Ensure claims are investigated promptly; collaborate with fraud investigators when needed.
  • Work with customers, brokers, and vendors to resolve claims.
  • Maintain detailed file records in the systems.
  • Process claims payments within authority level.
  • Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures.
  • Achieve targets for assigned claims and maintain file disposition rate.

The Opportunity

Join our growing Auto Claims team and manage complex and commercial auto claims while delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers the opportunity to apply your claims expertise, collaborate with key stakeholders, and make a meaningful impact through effective claim resolution.

What to Expect
  • Provide prompt, courteous, accurate and fair claims service to all customers, internal and external
  • Manage complex and/or commercial auto claims
  • Fully explain the claim process to all customers in a way they’ll easily understand
  • Interpret and apply policy wordings to determine appropriate coverage under a customer’s policy
  • Ensure all claims are promptly and fully investigated, collaborating with fraud investigators when necessary
  • Work with the customer, broker, and preferred vendors to determine the best way to resolve the claim
  • Maintain detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
  • Process claims payments within your authority level
  • Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned claims
  • Achieve the targeted number of assigned claims per year, while living our core values and meeting competencies
  • Achieve and maintain a file disposition rate of 100% on a monthly basis
What You Bring
  • Whether you’re dealing with customers or co-workers, you’re always professional, friendly and courteous.
  • Bilingualism Requirement: Candidates must be fully bilingual in both English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Preferably, you have a University degree in any discipline or a college diploma or the CIP designation
  • Minimum of 3 years experience handling automobile physical damage claims of moderately complex to complex in nature
  • Advanced knowledge of claims processes and procedures, including experience in both tort and DCPD provinces
  • You excel under and are comfortable with change
  • A demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills-detail-oriented and highly organized
  • A high proficiency with Windows based programs with excellent keyboarding skills
  • You are team oriented - you value collegiality and accomplishing goals together
  • You’re an excellent communicator (written and verbal) and an even better listener
Salary Range

: $51,300 - $94,400

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
