Job summary

Scotiabank, located in Vancouver, seeks an Insurance Consultant support role to assist Insurance Consultants in driving new business and advisor engagement within their regions. The incumbent will handle prospecting, documentation, underwriting coordination, and reporting as part of a team across multiple ICs.

The position requires strong analytical skills, university degree, and fluency in English and Mandarin; LLQP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint.
• University degree or equivalent.
• LLQP would be a strong asset.
• Knowledge of the insurance and/or wealth management industry.
• Industry accreditation (insurance license, CSC, CFP, PFP, CLU, other) would be an asset.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required; Cantonese is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supports IC prospecting and pipeline management activities, including tracking opportunities in the Agency Management System and preparing reports.
• Prepares new business documentation, pre-fills forms, completes applications with clients, and coordinates with underwriters and clients during underwriting.
• Ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and timely; verifies licensing is in Centralize and regulatory requirements are met.
• Organizes promotional seminars/webinars, coordinates CE certificates, and directs advisors to resources (internal content, carrier content).
• Supports ICs in managing in-force policies, reviews statements, requests in-force illustrations, and facilitates policy changes.
• Provides administrative support to ICs, including digital workflows, mail flow, supplies, and meeting/travel coordination.
• Champions a customer-focused culture and adheres to risk, conduct, and control requirements.
• Encourages a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
