Stalwart Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Vancouver or Toronto seeks an Insurance Lead with an accounting background to join our team.

This is a technical account-management role combining financial analysis, insurance administration, client-file management, and operational improvement. The Insurance Lead will work with detailed financial records, legal entity structures, cash flows, reconciliations, insurance policies, financing arrangements, and complex client documentation.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce, business, finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation, CPA candidacy, or meaningful progress toward an accounting designation is preferred, but not required.
• 2-5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.
• Strong Excel skills with multi-entity schedules, cash-flow models, and reconciliations.
• Ability to understand transactions involving corporations, trusts, lenders, insurers, and clients.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and professionals.
• Interest in building expertise in life insurance structures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain flow-of-funds models showing transactions among clients, lenders, insurers, and entities.
• Review premium schedules, financing, policy values, and ownership records for accuracy.
• Reconcile policy and financing information with supporting documents and schedules.
• Maintain continuity schedules for premiums, loans, and policy values.
• Analyze variances from prior-year models and investigate inconsistencies.
• Prepare financial summaries and presentations for clients and advisors.
• Coordinate with lenders, insurers, and accountants to meet data requests.
• Track fees, invoices, cash requirements, deadlines, and commitments.
• Coordinate annual policy renewals and financing activities with clients and teams.
• Notify clients and lenders of renewal requirements and key dates.
• Coordinate client meetings to review annual policy and financing information.
• Assist with insurance applications, renewals, and servicing requirements.
• Maintain complete client and policy records across systems.
• Follow up with insurers, underwriters, lenders, and advisors on items.
• Develop checklists and controls for recurring insurance processes.
• Identify gaps and implement process improvements and automation.
• Support executives and managers in operational initiatives.
• Manage multiple client files with clear documentation and accountability.
