Position Details

Position Title: Insurance Sales Director
Reports To: National VP Wholesaler Development & Advisor Engagement
Department: Individual Sales
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Toronto

Work Arrangements: You will work from your home office 100% of the time. You may be required to be in-person at our office in Waterloo, ON, or another assigned location within the Waterloo Region, on an as-needed basis. Sales-related roles may require travel based on the assignment.

The Opportunity

Equitable is growing! We are looking for an Insurance Sales Director to join our Individual Sales team. This role is vital within our Individual Life and Health Insurance division, responsible for business development and account management in the MGA channel. You will provide educational presentations, case consultations, sales strategies, and product and marketing support to drive sales. Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance-licensed advisors.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and grow productive advisor relationships for the Insurance product line (Universal Life, Whole Life, Term, and Critical Illness).
  • Build relationships with producers through 1-on-1 meetings (via Zoom and in person), seminars, and case consultations.
  • Deliver presentations to small and large groups of advisors and distributors.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education and/or applicable professional designations (e.g., CFP, CLU, CHFC, TEP).
  • Current Life License is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial industry, with experience marketing to Independent Advisors in a life insurance environment.
  • Previous sales and sales management experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with office software (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to work varying schedules (including evenings and weekends) and travel up to 65%, potentially internationally.
