Qualifications

  • General Insurance Agent Level 2 license or equivalent required.

As an Insurance Marketing Manager, a typical day might include:

  1. Acting as liaison between BSAA staff and Account Executives when issues arise requiring attention
  2. Performing annual staff Performance Development Plan reviews, and making recommendations when required
  3. Approving, monitoring, and tracking staff expense, vacation, sick, and remote workdays for direct reports, providing quarterly summaries to the Director, Market Management
  4. Collaborating with the Director, Market Management to oversee the development of a workflow system to effectively and efficiently manage workload
  5. Reviewing monthly reports to ensure accounts are renewed and acting as back-up manager to other BSAA managers
  6. Conducting process and needs assessments across Commercial Insurance, implementing initiatives for continuous improvement
  7. Executing regular meetings with staff, monitoring and auditing workflows
  8. Ensuring staff feel supported and heard by management
  9. Communicating, promoting, and aligning staff behavior with company values
  10. Communicating Axis’ goals and achievements to staff
  11. Collaborating with staff to monitor Objectives & Key Results
  12. Providing training and mentoring as required
  13. Immediately dealing with staff issues, working towards a resolution
  14. Motivating and supervising employees, including team building, and developing a high service level standard for the department
  15. Performing periodic file audits to ensure procedures are followed by all direct reports
  16. Assisting others as needed and performing other duties as assigned
  17. Providing marketing and policy rating service and technical support to the Marketing Management team
  18. Liaising with Account Executives to discuss client needs and make recommendations regarding terms and conditions obtained
  19. Providing ongoing servicing, negotiating mid-term changes with insurers, and preparing submissions and proposals for clients
  20. Creating and following up on abeyances and documentation requests
  21. Acting as technical support to staff for policy coverage and underwriting information, including policy wording review and contract review
  22. Attending client meetings, as required

Must Haves:

  1. Minimum 7 years of Commercial Marketing experience, meeting core competencies
  2. Experience with Personal Lines is an asset
  3. General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or equivalent, with the ability to obtain a BC license
  4. Designations such as CAIB, CIP, CRM are assets
  5. Post-Secondary Degree is an asset
  6. Experience with Epic broker management system is an asset
