Job summary

Jardeg recruits Instrument Technician journeyperson to join Heartland Constructors Inc. for the CNRL Horizon Fall site near Fort McMurray, Alberta, for a 2026 Fall Turnaround. Day and night shifts, camp accommodations, and travel from Edmonton/Calgary are provided.

The contract runs Sept 7 to Oct 7, with a 6-on/1-off rotation and overtime potential. Responsibilities include laying out, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems, and verifying system integrity using testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
• Valid apprenticeship
• Driver's Abstract
• Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test and Mask fit
• CSTS 09 or CSO
• Confined Space -ESC
• Fall Protection -ESC
• AWP - ESC
• Basic Rigging

Responsibilities

• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.

Jardeg is recruiting Instrument Technician journeyperson to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta for the 2026 Fall Turnaround. Day and night shifts are available. Flights are provided from Edmonton and Calgary. The shift rotation is 6 days on, 1 day off during the turnaround with overtime. Camp accommodation and charter flights (from Calgary or Edmonton) are provided by the company.

Travel allowance available for qualified applicants.
