Job summary

Jardeg recruits a Welder Apprentice to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta for the 2026 Fall Turnaround. Day and night shifts available with a 6 days on, 1 day off rotation. Camp accommodation and flights from Edmonton/Calgary provided.

Travel allowance for qualified applicants. Temporary role from Sep 7 to Oct 7, 2026 with overtime on site.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certification or Red Seal required.
• Valid apprenticeship in welding or related trade.
• Driver's Abstract and drug/alcohol pre-access test required.
• Mask fit and safety training mandatory.
• CSTS 09 or CSO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, AWP, Firewatch, basic rigging required.

Responsibilities

• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems.
• Demonstrate measurement, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes and fittings.
• Use testing equipment to check leaks and troubleshoot fittings.

Jardeg is recruiting Welder Apprentice to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta for the 2026 Fall Turnaround. Day and night shifts are available. Flights are provided from Edmonton and Calgary. The shift rotation is 6 days on, 1 day off during the turnaround with overtime. Camp accommodation and charter flights (from Calgary or Edmonton) are provided by the company.

Travel allowance available for qualified applicants.

This is a temporary role starting as early as Sep 7th 2026 and lasting as late as Oct 7th 2026.

Responsibilities

• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.
