Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic Saskatoon Campus is seeking an Instructor in Early Childhood Education to deliver the diploma program and support blended learning. You will guide students through instructional activities, assessments, and reflective practice in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a four-year degree in education or child development, plus two years of relevant ECE experience. This part-time position follows the CBA and includes opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Recognized four-year degree related to ECE or education.
• Two years’ recent experience in Early Learning/Childcare settings as ECE instructor or educator.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with internet, email, and MS Office; able to adapt to new tech.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for the Early Childhood Education diploma program.

Job Duties

• To provide instruction and to facilitate interactive practical experiences for students in the Early Childhood Education diploma program.
• Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using appropriate instructional methodologies in support of a blended learning experience.
• Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students on the required learning platform (Brightspace).Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
• Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
• Maintain and update curriculum materials.
• Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to remain current with employer and educational requirements.
• Develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers and, as required, arrange and supervise students in practical work placements.
• Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
• Attend program and school meetings.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities And Experience

• Recognized relevant four-year degree (Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Child and Youth Studies, Bachelor’s in Child Development).
• Two years’ recent and relevant experience working in an Early Learning and Childcare Education setting as an Early Childhood Educator, Teacher, or ECE Instructor.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
• Effective instructional ability.
• Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, and MS Office Suite software, with the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
