Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus seeks an instructor for Dental Assisting in Continuing Education to deliver online and in-person lab components for the November 2–December 12, 2026 course. Lab is Dec 12, 2026, 12:00–16:00.

The contract is 60 CAD per hour, with enrollment-based session delivery and notes to be coordinated with the program and students. Required qualifications include graduating from an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program and a current Saskatchewan license, plus at

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program.
  • Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
  • Min. 2 years recent dental assisting experience in a dental office.
  • Experience in teaching dental assisting skills or a clinical education setting is desirable.
  • Ability to apply adult education principles to assist learners.
  • Preference given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, mark assignments, monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.
  • Create an outline for the lab days, submit packing lists to lab in a timely manner, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer students' questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.

  • Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
  • Min. 2 years recent and relevant (2 years within the last 5 years) dental assisting experience in a dental office.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles and techniques-up to date with current dental assisting courses.
  • Recent experience in teaching dental assisting skills and/or a recent experience in a clinical environment.
  • Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required knowledge and skills.
  • Preference will be given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
