Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Regina is seeking an instructor for a blended online and in-person dental assisting course scheduled for September 7 – October 4, 2026 with lab on October 4, 2026. The contract runs 09/07/2026 to 06/30/2027 at $60 per hour.

The role involves updating course materials, teaching, assessing student progress, and coordinating lab days and exams within Continuing Education. Prior faculty experience at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program.
• Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
• Min. 2 years recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles and techniques up to date.
• Recent experience in teaching dental assisting skills and/or a clinical environment.
• Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners.
• Preference will be given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Responsibilities

• Check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, mark assignments, monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.
• Create an outline for the lab days, submit packing list(s) to lab in a timely manner, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student’s questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.
