Are you an Instructional Designer who enjoys working in a team environment to develop course materials for both e-learning and classroom training? Our Instructional Designer position offers an opportunity to provide end-to-end support for our Learning and Development Services team in developing programs, curricula, and designing instructional materials for classroom training, e-learning, self-study, and on-the-job courses for WorkSafeBC employees.

How you'll make a difference: You'll build and empower teams that serve workers and employers across B.C.

Where you'll work: At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines remote work and in-office work based on operational needs. For more details, refer to WSN - Hybrid Work.

  • Assess training needs by consulting with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and instructional staff to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop training materials using educational theories and best practices, including course outlines, student modules, e-learning lessons, instructor guides, learning activities, PowerPoint presentations, and other instructional materials.
  • Design and develop evaluation processes, including tests, for training programs.
  • Conduct internal train-the-trainer programs to assist trainers in delivering training.
  • Model organizational behaviors such as responsiveness, respect, fairness, collaboration, accountability, and forward-thinking.

We're looking for people who can:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external clients and consultants.
  • Apply principles of instructional design, development, and evaluation.
  • Stay updated on adult education and instructional technology developments and incorporate new methods.

Your background and experience:

  • Experience in adult education, instructional design, or course development.
  • Three years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Education.
  • Four years of experience with a bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Five years of experience with a diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Technology, or similar.
  • Experience developing course material for both e-learning and classroom environments.
  • Knowledge of instructional technologies and project management models.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
