Instructional Designer (Contract, Part-Time)

Contract Duration: June 1st, 2025 – June 30th, 2025 (potential for extension)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Compensation: $22.5 - $25 CAD per hour
About Achieve Potential:
Achieve Potential Inc. is seeking a skilled and proactive Instructional Designer to contribute to the development of online learning programs. This project involves working with a Learning Management System (LMS) and creating engaging course content, and incorporating AI-driven tools. You will play a key role in designing and developing effective learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
As the Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for the pedagogical and structural integrity of the initial online course. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Course Design and Scripting: Developing a comprehensive course outline, learning objectives, and detailed scripts for video content, ensuring alignment with the project goals and desired learning outcomes.
- Learning Structure and Flow: Designing a logical and engaging learning journey within the LMS, incorporating follow-up activities for reinforcement and potential AI integration.
- AI Tool Integration: Collaborating on the integration of AI tools, such as Synthesia or similar platforms, within the learning structure to enhance the learner experience and content delivery.
- Content Development Guidance: Providing instructional design expertise to guide video production (using AI video generation tools) and the creation of supplementary learning materials.
- Follow-Up Activity Design: Designing and developing structured follow-up activities, including tasks, prompts, and relevant assets to reinforce learning and drive application.
- LMS Content Upload and Organization: Ensuring the finalized course content, including videos and follow-up materials, are uploaded and organized effectively within the LMS platform.
- Quality Assurance: Participating in quality assurance testing of the course and follow-up activities to ensure accuracy, functionality, and a positive learner experience.
- Template Creation: Contributing to the development of editable source files and templates for instructional design elements.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Achieve Potential team (including technical and project management roles).
Deliverables:
Your contributions will directly contribute to the following deliverables:
- Finalized course script and video content guidance, potentially for AI video generation.
- Structured follow-up activities (tasks, prompts, assets).
- Uploaded and organized course content within the LMS platform.
- Editable source files and templates for instructional design elements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in instructional design and developing online learning experiences.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience in scripting and storyboarding video content for online learning.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
- Experience designing follow-up and reinforcement strategies for learning.
- Experience working with AI-powered content creation tools, such as Synthesia, for video generation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines 1 in a fast-paced environment.
