Job summary

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) seeks an Institutional Associate to support the PH&N Institutional team with a focus on Core-Active Fixed Income. You will craft market analyses and create exhibits for portfolio managers, while contributing to research, risk modelling, and client reporting.

You will collaborate across RBC GAM to onboard and evolve client mandates, support business development, and deliver high-quality client content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree; commerce, economics or mathematics preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years investment and financial services (or related) industry experience.
  • CFA candidate or Charterholder.
  • Actuarial credentials and experience would be considered an asset.
  • Passion for capital markets and a strong desire to learn and impact on client outcomes.
  • Superior literacy of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A flexible work schedule including the expectation that hours may extend during key busy periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • A demonstrated track record as a high performer in a range of arenas from work to extra-curriculars with the ability to prioritize and multitask to tight deadlines with a very high degree of accuracy.
  • A demonstrated ability to perform strongly as a team player, with the ability to be proactive and effective in independent tasks.
  • Capable problem solver who demonstrates strategic thinking, common sense and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support institutional portfolio managers by composing market analysis and slides.
  • Contribute to research and creative analysis, including white papers, podcasts, portfolio structuring, risk modelling, seminars.
  • Respond to information requests, manage cash flows, monitor compliance, and structure mandates for client strategies.
  • Support interactions with clients, consultants and prospects by creating content for presentations and client reporting.
  • Collaborate with institutional team members to support business development and evolution of mandates.
  • Construct and maintain documentation for client mandates onboarding or evolution (IMAs, SIPPs, IPSs, KYC).

As an Institutional Associate you will provide support to the PH&N Institutional team, with a primary focus on Core-Active Fixed Income.

What will you do?
  • Directly support institutional portfolio managers by leveraging your financial knowledge and understanding of market conditions to compose written market analysis and the creation of corresponding exhibits and slides to synthesize key technicals.
  • Contribute to research and creative analysis efforts, including specialized white papers and podcasts, portfolio structuring, product development, risk modelling, and internal & external seminars.
  • Respond to requests for information, manage cash flows, monitor compliance, and structure mandates in support of strategies employed by our institutional clients.
  • Support our interactions with clients, consultants and prospects by creating content for presentations and managing the production, review, and distribution of period clients reporting, along with other forms of client communication.
  • Collaborate with institutional team members to support key business development activities, and creative evolutions of existing mandates to reflect changes in objectives. Capture key client updates in our systems.
  • Work with various teams across RBC GAM to construct and maintain appropriate documentation as client mandates onboard or evolve (e.g. IMAs, SIPPs, IPSs, KYC, etc.).

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
