Job summary

RBC Dominion Securities in Ottawa, Ontario seeks a client-focused professional to support Investment Advisors by maintaining client accounts, processing trades, and ensuring documentation remains accurate and compliant.

You will help deepen relationships, welcome new clients, and respond to inquiries promptly while collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain robust controls within wealth management operations.

Qualifications

  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) required.
  • Strong skills with business applications/technology, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • World-class client service, with a professional, warm, and friendly demeanor.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing client accounts from an account maintenance perspective, including management of models, execution of trades, all position rebalancing functions to contracted levels, cash raises, and sending EFTs.
  • Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery.
  • Respond to client inquiries in an understanding and time-efficient manner (account transactions, requests, account documentation, account reporting, etc.).
  • Ad hoc analysis on products and/or accounts as directed by the Advisor Team.
  • Cross train on numerous office administration functions from account opening to meeting preparation to effectively managing incoming communications from clients, Advisors and other internal and external partners.
  • Tap into your superior problem resolution skills to provide proactive client service. Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with various departments to provide smooth and timely solutions.
  • Become well-versed in internal controls and industry regulatory requirements, ensuring client files and other necessary documentation is accurate, up-to-date and compliant.

Job Description

By providing ongoing, exceptional service and support to our clients, you will help our team deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. As an invaluable Team member, you will play a key role in both general practice administration and maintaining client accounts, ensuring account administration and documentation remains up-to-date and compliant and working with the Investment Advisors in managing client portfolios and wealth management planning opportunities.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam, CIRE.
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite with experience and comfort with both Microsoft Excel and basic numeracy skills.
  • High quality time management and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in providing world‑class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures.
  • Experience in the securities industry is an asset.
