Job summary

RBC Dominion Securities, a leading wealth management firm in Canada, seeks an Investment Associate for the Newmarket branch. You will support the Advisor team by maintaining client accounts, processing documentation, and coordinating meetings with clients and prospects.

You will ensure compliance, assist with onboarding, and manage communications across clients and partners while leveraging your planning skills to support wealth management opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business applications.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, professional and client-focused.
  • Proven ability to deliver world-class client service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage existing client accounts, documents and timelines.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly regarding transactions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Advisors and other departments to provide solutions.
  • Manage communications from clients, Advisors and external partners.
  • Assist Advisors in onboarding new clients.
  • Prepare meetings for Advisors with clients/prospects.
  • Ensure client files meet internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Update team communications on websites, LinkedIn, brochures, newsletters.
  • Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement.
  • Support Wealth Management process and track activities.

The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Newmarket is looking for a resourceful, efficient and collaborative individual to join our leading wealth management firm as an Investment Associate.

By providing ongoing, exceptional service and support to our clients and our Advisor team, you will help our team deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. As an invaluable internal and external point of contact, you will play a key role in maintaining client accounts, ensuring account administration and documentation remains up-to-date and compliant and working with an Investment Advisor in managing client portfolios and wealth management planning opportunities.

What will you do?
  • Maintain existing client accounts and identify opportunities to contact clients. You will be responsible for managing timelines and key dates for accounts to help ensure clients feel supported by our team.
  • Respond to client inquiries in an understanding and time-efficient manner (account transactions, requests, account documentation, account reporting, etc.).
  • Tap into your superior problem resolution skills to provide proactive client service. Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with various departments to provide smooth and timely solutions.
  • Effectively manage incoming communications from clients, Advisors and other internal and external partners.
  • Assist the Advisor team in welcoming and onboarding new clients.
  • Leverage your passion for planning to coordinate and prepare meetings for Advisors with their clients/prospects.
  • Become well-versed in internal controls and industry regulatory requirements, ensuring client files and other necessary documentation is accurate, up-to-date and compliant.
  • Draw on your social media skills to update the team’s communication channels, including websites, LinkedIn, Facebook, brochures, newsletters.
  • Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery.
  • Support the Advisor team and client through the Wealth Management process and maintain an audit of Wealth Management Activities and priorities.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam, CIRE
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • High quality time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures
  • Experience in the securities industry is an asset

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$37,500.00 - $50,000.00

This position includes competitive-based pay, and the overall earning potential is impacted by a variable incentive structure, earning a multiple of salary up to:
