Job summary

AlixPartners in Toronto is seeking an Insolvency Administrator to support bankruptcy, proposals, receivership, and restructuring engagements. You will interact with creditors, debtors, counsel, and financial institutions while handling case documentation and regulatory filings.

The role offers exposure to distressed businesses across industries, with a strong emphasis on compliance with the BIA and related regulations.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting.
• 2+ years of experience in insolvency, bankruptcy administration, restructuring, accounting, financial advisory, or a related professional services environment.
• Working knowledge of Canadian insolvency legislation, including the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with insolvency administration software such as Ascend.
• Estate Administrator designation is an asset.
• Insolvency Counsellor’s Course is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer insolvency and restructuring files from initiation through closure.
• Prepare and file statutory documents, regulatory filings, and case paperwork.
• Coordinate communications with debtors, creditors, legal counsel, and banks.
• Review financial information, creditor claims, and supporting docs.
• Assist with asset realizations, distributions, and trust accounts.
• Prepare correspondence and reports for engagements.
• Maintain case files and deadlines, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support investigations into financials, asset recoveries, and claims.
• Assist with financial analysis, cash flow reviews, and restructuring assessments.
