Junior Insolvency Analyst — Hybrid & Growth

Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Junior Insolvency Analyst to join the Personal Debt Solutions team on the Proposals group, where you’ll support reviewing consumer proposals and help negotiate amendments with creditors and debtors.

You will chair meetings of creditors when needed, respond to debtors’ inquiries, and collaborate with team members to ensure timely administration while developing your technical knowledge through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• One or more years of relevant work experience in a financial service environment.
• Insolvency, Banking, Finance, Credit Counseling or related areas.
• Previous insolvency experience is an asset but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Team player who can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review consumer proposals for acceptance by creditors or whether proposal negotiations are required.
• Assist with negotiating amendments to the consumer proposals.
• Assist with chairing meetings of creditors and drafting minutes of the meeting.
• Respond to debtors’ inquiries in a timely manner.
• Answer questions relating to the consumer proposal.
• Liaise with team members to ensure efficient, diligent, and timely administration of the consumer proposal.
• Participate in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge.
• Completing other duties as assigned.
