Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an Inside Sales Support professional to assist District Sales Representatives by coordinating orders, communicating with customers via phone and email, and maintaining accurate records in CRM and Gordon Ordering systems.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to respond to inquiries, process orders, and support events and promotions while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring timely, accurate information across channels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years full-time related work experience.
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Experience in the food service industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other departments to meet customer needs, internal reporting and customer record keeping.
• Takes orders by phone or email and supports sales activities.
• Maintains accurate customer records and supports CRM data entry.
• Supports DSR for vacation coverage and seasonal events.
• Learns and uses Genysis, Powersell, CRM, Gordon Ordering and other systems.

Position Summary

Supports activities for the outside District Sales Representatives (DSR) including order and delivery interaction between customers via telephone, email and Gordon Ordering. Seeks growth opportunities in existing house customers with knowledge and professionalism as well as strengthening customer relationships by representing Gordon Food Service (GFS) branded products and services. Helps drive account growth and profitability by undertaking administrative job duties as it pertains to the sales department. Use of divisional shared email to address and support the needs as they arise.

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday | 7AM - 3:30PM | 5 Days x 8 Hours

Training Schedule

First 8 weeks will be Monday - Friday | 5 Days x 8 Hours

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with other departments to meet all customer needs, internal reporting and customer record keeping.
• Participates in general sales meetings, promotions and facilitates food show registration.
• Assists with recall and other information sharing as required.
• Takes orders from various customers as needed via phone or email.
• Stays up to date with product offerings, market trends and customer needs while learning about the organizational offerings and systems.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills when dealing with unique or difficult situations.
• Provides support to sales representatives coordinating customer service, orders, credits etc during special large special events IE: Stampede, PNE, SNE, F1 Race etc.
• Supports and assists DSR for vacation coverage and seasonally based on needs.
• Provides routing assistance for changes to deliveries such as time delays, adjustments in delivery days, etc.
• Details customer complaints, tracks the same issues that multiple customers have, and reports problems as necessary.
• Performs Other Duties as assigned.

• Must have good customer service and time management skills.
• Ability to perform 10-key data entry
• Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.
• High organized with a great attention to detail

• Ability to learn and use Genysis, Powersell, CRM, Gordon Ordering and other various systems

Education & Minimum Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 2 years full-time related work experience required.
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Previous Experience in the area of food service industry is preferred.
