Responsibilities

About Opportunity

Our client, a well-established equipment rental company, is seeking four customer-focused and motivated Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representatives to join their growing team in Vancouver and Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with customers, have an interest in tools and equipment, and thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidates will have experience in equipment rentals, construction, hardware, industrial supplies, building materials, or a related industry. However, candidates with strong customer service or sales experience, mechanical aptitude, and a genuine interest in learning about tools and equipment are also encouraged to apply.

Location: Vancouver, BC and Surrey, BC

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $52,500 – $83,200 per year, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person and over the phone with equipment rental inquiries, reservations, and orders.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable tools, machinery, and equipment for their projects.
• Provide product information, explain equipment features, and educate customers on safe operation and proper use.
• Prepare rental quotes, agreements, contracts, and related documentation accurately.
• Identify additional products, accessories, and supplies that may benefit customers and support sales growth.
• Develop new customer relationships while maintaining and strengthening existing accounts.
• Follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, and potential sales opportunities.
• Coordinate equipment availability, reservations, deliveries, and returns with branch and operations teams.
• Inspect returned equipment, document any damages or missing items, and communicate maintenance requirements.
• Address customer concerns professionally and work toward effective resolutions.
• Maintain accurate records, organized documentation, and a clean and professional counter area.
• Follow company policies, equipment handling procedures, and workplace health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in equipment rentals, construction, hardware, building materials, industrial supplies, or a related industry is highly desirable.
• Experience in inside sales, counter sales, customer service, or a similar customer-facing role.
• Familiarity with tools, construction equipment, machinery, or mechanical products is a strong asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of customers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand customer needs and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic mathematical skills and the ability to prepare quotes and process rental transactions accurately.
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn rental management and point-of-sale systems.
• A reliable, proactive, and customer-focused approach with a willingness to learn.
• Candidates without direct equipment rental experience are encouraged to apply if they have relevant exposure to hardware stores, automotive parts or service, trades, general construction, equipment maintenance, handyman services, industrial supplies, or similar environments.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive annual compensation ranging from $52,500 to $83,200, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Entry-level candidates with transferable experience may start at approximately $25 per hour.
• Candidates with relevant equipment rental experience may earn approximately $30–$40 per hour.
• Full-time, permanent employment.

Additional Requirements

• A valid driver's licence is an asset.
• Candidates must be comfortable working around tools, machinery, and equipment.
