Job summary

Ryan Company Limited in Port Coquitlam, BC, is seeking an Equipment Refurbisher and Technical Support specialist to join our Lower Mainland team. This full-time role involves refurbishing equipment, performing installations and relocations, and providing hands-on technical support at client sites across BC.

You'll inspect, repair, and replace parts, operate forklifts, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate moves with facility teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract.
  • Forklift operator certification or experience.
  • Experience moving, handling or refurbishing equipment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices.
  • Willing to travel across BC as required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment for damage or wear and refurbish to restore function.
  • Install and remove equipment at client sites across BC.
  • Coordinate moves with facility management to minimize downtime.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies for relocation.
  • Diagnose, repair, test equipment, and report findings to customers.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Travel within BC to support operations with short notice.

Equipment Refurbisher and Technical Support

Regular Full Time Port Coquitlam, BC, CA

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

Ryan Company is growing, and we're looking for a full-time equipment mover / technical support personnel to join our Lower Mainland Team.

In this role you will:

  • Inspect equipment for damage or wear and perform refurbishments such as cleaning, repairing, or replacing parts to restore functionality.
  • Perform installations and removals of equipment to/from client sites across BC
  • Coordinate with facility management and other departments to schedule equipment moves and minimize operational downtime.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies to facilitate equipment relocation.
  • Diagnose and fix broken equipment, replacing broken parts, testing equipment, documenting findings and reporting back to the customer
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety regulations and company policies during all phases of equipment handling.
  • Work is primarily in the Lower Mainland but with notice short-term travel will be required to support our other areas of operations across BC.

Before you apply - minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or equivalent experience in operating material handling equipment.
  • Proven experience in equipment moving, handling, or refurbishment in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
  • Comfortable travelling as required with notice across BC
Other things you bring to the table:
  • Technical training or certification in equipment maintenance or mechanical repair.
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical equipment refurbishment.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics environment.
  • Ability to safely operate larger vehicles and lift gates
  • Flexible, able to adjust to a changing work schedule including some weekends and on call
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English - general computer skills an asset
  • Able to regularly lift up to 50lbs; can move heavy vending machines with the use of equipment
  • Troubleshooting/mechanical skills
  • Basic plumbing and electrical skills
  • Experience with moving equipment or furniture
  • Ability to understand parts and wiring diagrams
  • Professional attitude and customer-service focused approach
  • Team player with a resourceful, "can-do" attitude
