Job summary

Gescan, a leading distributor of electrical products in Western Canada, seeks a Customer Relations/Sales Associate to build lasting customer relationships and drive order intake, pricing, and deliveries. You will identify upsell opportunities, handle calls, and open new accounts while maintaining product knowledge and pricing accuracy.

The role involves entering orders, providing quotations, and offering technical support to customers, with daily shipping/receiving duties and cross-functional

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post secondary courses in Sales and/or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • 3 years related experience.
  • Product knowledge or industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships and ensure satisfaction with orders, pricing, deliveries, and service.
  • Contact current customers and identify new products and up-selling opportunities.
  • Respond to calls and process orders.
  • Open new accounts and develop customer base.
  • Enter orders into the system and maintain product knowledge.
  • Provide pricing quotations and technical product support.
  • Handle shipping, credits/debits, returns and freight issues.
  • Respond to inquiries and close orders.

Scope of the Position:

Responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring that customers are satisfied with regard to order taking, product, pricing, deliveries and overall service.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential up-selling.
  • Responding to and processing incoming calls and orders.
  • Opening new accounts.
  • Developing customer base and sales leads by making cold and warm calls.
  • Entering orders into system.
  • Maintaining knowledge base on current products and learning about new products.
  • Identify product(s) the customer requires that may not be stocked by the Company and sourcing the product(s).
  • Providing pricing quotations, follow-up on quotes and Technical support on products.
  • Purchasing for direct orders and do counter Sales.
  • Shipping & Receiving - daily verify orders and fill-in if the shipper/receiver is absent.
  • Responsible for Credits/Debits, Returns and Troubleshooting freight problems, expediting, etc.
  • Responding to inquiries and closing orders.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post Secondary courses in Sales and/or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • 3 years related experience.
  • Product knowledge or industry experience preferred.
