Job summary

Fort Garry Industries in Edmonton East is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to assist customers in selecting and purchasing heavy‑duty parts both in person and by phone. You will help optimize transactions, advise on pricing, returns, and special orders, and work with a team to deliver excellent service.

The role requires 1–5 years of heavy‑duty parts sales experience, strong communication, and a willingness to lift 50–75 lbs. Open Saturdays and a parts‑tech background are assets.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience selling heavy‑duty parts in related industries (Agriculture, Automotive, Trailers) preferred
• Must be able to lift parts 50–75 lbs and work in a warehouse
• Open availability including Saturdays
• Completion of a parts technician trades program is preferred but not required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
• Team-oriented, adaptable with a safety mindset

Our EDMONTON EAST BRANCH has an exciting opportunity for a COUNTER SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our team!

What You Will Do:

The Counter Sales Representative is a customer-forward role that serves customers in person and on the phone, helping them select and purchase heavy-duty parts and equipment. You will work with your branch team members to deliver a high-quality customer experience that exceeds customer expectations through the following tasks:

• Provide product knowledge expertise in selling aftermarket heavy-duty parts to customers and build long-lasting customer relationships
• Optimize each transaction by advising on products, product applications, returns, warranty claims, and special orders to meet all customer needs
• Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, product catalogues, and features
• Assist with cash and/or national accounts
• Follow company procedures for sales pricing, processing approved credits, invoicing, and freight billing for customers and/or product defects
• Complete online training as needed and champion brand lines or products
• May be assigned special projects
• May deliver parts to customers with a company vehicle
• May operate a forklift within the branch
• Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

• 1-5 years of experience selling heavy-duty parts sales, or a similar industry (Agriculture, Automotive, Trailers) preferred, combined with a high school diploma or other equivalency certificate
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements: Able to lift parts upwards of 50 -75 lbs., use ladders at varying heights, and frequently walk in a large warehouse
• Completion of a parts technician trades program is preferred but not required
• Proficiency with multiple languages (Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu) is preferred but not required
• Must have open availability including Saturdays
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
• Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence
