Job summary

Maxim Truck and Trailer in Brandon, MB is seeking a Parts Counter Person to help customers find the parts they need to keep fleets rolling. You will identify parts, take orders, create invoices, and support inventory control.

The role emphasizes customer service, problem solving, and building relationships with customers and suppliers. Previous parts experience is welcome but not required as training is provided.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of heavy-duty truck & trailer parts experience preferred but not required.
• 2+ years front line sales and customer service experience required
• Prior parts sourcing or purchasing experience is an asset
• Knowledge of Karmak business system preferred
• A team player with initiative and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Sells parts to customers and builds relationships by identifying parts, taking orders, creating invoices, billing freight, and collecting payment; inputs lost sales into Karmak.
• Increases sales by suggesting products and advising customers on applications
• Stocks shelves and maintains counter/store area; assists with inventories, cleanup, and displays
• Sources parts by phoning suppliers; seeks technical information and orders merchandise within limits
• Accepts returned goods from customers for credit

PARTS COUNTER PERSON

Maxim Truck and Trailer

Have no previous parts experience but have a desire to join a progressive team and learn a new trade? Then please share your resume with us. We are looking for an individual that likes to problem solve and help customers find the parts they need to keep their fleets rolling.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM and a Saturday 8:00AM-4:00PM shift (every 3 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Sells parts to customers and builds customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment. Inputs lost sales (e.g. due to no stock) into Karmak business system.
• Increases sales and decreases obsolete stock by making suggestions, up-selling products and advising customers on product applications
• Stocks shelves and reports stock levels. Maintains counter and store area and may assist in putting up displays. Participates in annual parts inventories, clean-up and preparation work.
• Sources parts for select customers by phoning suppliers and competitors. Seeks technical information regarding new & current products and orders merchandise within established limits.
• Accepts returned goods from customers for a credit

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of heavy-duty truck & trailer parts experience preferred but not required
• 2+ years with front line sales and customer service required
• Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of products an asset

• Able to up-sell products to customers
• Strong numbers orientation, attention to detail

• Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through informal automotive/truck mechanical experience a definite asset
• Forklift license or ability to achieve an asset
