Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current BCLS required.
• Current NRP (or within 3 months of hire) required.
• IBCLC course completed upon hire; certification exam within 1 year.
• Demonstrated lactation knowledge for NICU/high risk infants.

Responsibilities

• Provides breast-feeding information and support for inpatient and outpatient families within the Women’s and Children’s Health program, with emphasis on NICU and high-risk neonates.
• Participates in development and implementation of nursing and patient education programs; works with Interprofessional Health Care Team.
• Maintains competence and professionalism; may facilitate inpatient/outpatient groups and assist with education.
