Job summary

Government of Alberta Infrastructure in Calgary is seeking a Project Coordinator to support capital project delivery from planning through commissioning. You will liaise with clients, consultants, and construction teams to balance needs against scope and budgets.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, documentation control, and coordination across departments. A six-year track record in construction coordination and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical diploma in Architectural/Engineering technology.
• Minimum of six years of experience in construction or related technical field with exposure to project coordination, site supervision, or similar roles.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license.
• Equivalency: 1 year education for 1 year experience or vice versa.
• Final candidates will undergo criminal records check (CRC).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships across internal groups to influence decision-making and ensure positive project outcomes.
• Assist the Senior Project Manager with project planning, including schedules and cost estimates.
• Participate in all stages of project design, construction, and operational commissioning activities (on multiple projects).
• Coordinate reviews and submittals to in-house resources, consultants, independent advisors, cities and municipalities, and external stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain a complex document management system for the project team, within SharePoint.
• Provide reports and briefings to the Senior Project Manager to update project status, cash flow, and cost information.
• Perform frequent inspections of work area and site documentation to ensure policies, safety and quality regulations are followed.
• Ensure as-builts and O&M manuals from consultants are recorded in the project management system.
• Support furniture/equipment moves and coordination as required.
