Socket.dev is seeking an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer II to join our Corporate Infrastructure Services team in Vancouver, BC. The role focuses on SME-level deployment, designing and implementing solutions for multi-faceted networking challenges, and guiding other engineers.
You will apply CCNP-level expertise and 5+ years in enterprise networking to influence decisions, standardize implementations, and mentor junior engineers in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Infrastructure Deployment Engineer II to join our growing team within Corporate Infrastructure Services. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for infrastructure deployment, driving technical solutions for complex, undefined problems with limited guidance. The Infrastructure Deployment Engineer II will design and implement solutions that address multi-faceted networking challenges, influence technical decisions across teams, and act as an escalation point for domain-specific issues.
Our ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise at a CCNP level (or equivalent demonstrated experience) in advanced routing protocols, network design principles, and sophisticated troubleshooting methodologies. They bring a comprehensive understanding of enterprise network architecture and interdependencies, enabling them to adapt existing architectures to new challenges and create solutions where no established patterns exist. They communicate complex technical concepts effectively across teams and influence technical decisions through strong argumentation and data‑driven analysis.
In this role, you will operate independently on challenging problems, seeking guidance only for novel situations with broad organizational impact. You will influence process improvements across teams, develop implementation standards, and produce documentation that becomes long‑term reference material. You will provide technical guidance to engineers across teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of standards and best practices that shape technical direction.
Infrastructure Deployment Engineers at this level are expected to identify systemic problems, propose architectural improvements, and consider long‑term maintenance and scalability in their approach. They drive adoption of best practices within their domain and influence team technical direction through SME expertise. The desire and ability to work in an ambiguous, collaborative environment — solving undefined problems and creating new solutions — is essential for success.
