Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Deployment Technician to help build and maintain cloud infrastructure across data centers in the Americas, including Balzac, AB. You will install and configure routers, switches and DWDM gear while coordinating with remote teams to ensure reliable service.

The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs, working in tight spaces and occasional travel; you will partner with internal teams to deliver network deployment projects and maintain safety and quality

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer networking experience.
• 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects.
• Build relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events.
• Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
• Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
• Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
• Decommissioning of cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.

As a Network Deployment Technician at AWS, you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas.

The role involves some periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication.

Key job responsibilities

• Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.

• This role may involve up to 50% travel; the vast majority is local travel but may have the potential to include domestic and international travel to support the organization.

Basic Qualifications
