Job summary

Jobtailor in Toronto is offering a co-op internship to support product and security stakeholders. You will help organize and refine the backlog, track project progress, and document decisions across sessions, while maintaining threat registers and dashboards.

You will work with Product Owner, Manager, and Security Advisors on day-to-day coordination, analytics, and reporting, gaining exposure to Agile processes and risk management in a cybersecurity context.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • Enrolled in a recognized co-op program.
  • Experience through coursework, projects, or prior work terms in business analysis, project coordination, IT, or cybersecurity is assets.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to track multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources and document it clearly for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Exposure to backlog or project-tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology is an asset.
  • Interest in cybersecurity, threat modeling, or risk management.
  • Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and charts.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data-analysis/visualization tools is an asset.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and adaptability, with the ability to work independently and escalate issues when needed.
  • Available 35 hours a week from January 4 to April 23, 2027.
  • Must be an active student during the internship and/or returning to school the following semester.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment.
  • Resume and University/College transcript required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Owner in organizing, prioritizing, and maintaining the team's backlog
  • Track projects from intake through remediation and deployment readiness
  • Follow up with project teams to obtain missing information and keep work on schedule
  • Participate in working sessions and document decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and follow-up actions
  • Update threat registers, security requirements, and mitigation trackers
  • Support backlog refinement, planning, and other Agile ceremonies
  • Identify changes to project scope, timelines, or requirements and assess their impact on threat-modeling activities and deployment readiness
  • Identify dependencies, competing priorities, and delivery risks
  • Recommend opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Prepare status updates, dashboards, presentations, and reports for stakeholders
  • Maintain team procedures, templates, checklists, and knowledge-base content
  • Research security and threat-modeling concepts as needed
  • Support the Product Owner, Manager, and Security Advisors with day-to-day coordination and analysis
