Job summary

Texcan, a leading Canadian distributor of wire and cable, is seeking a dynamic Sales Representative for our Edmonton team. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of sales experience in industrial/commercial products, with a strong grasp of solution selling, margins, pricing, and negotiations to grow our customer base.

You will respond to inquiries, open new accounts, and provide product information and quotations while maintaining knowledge of current offerings.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of sales experience with industrial/commercial products preferred.
• Strong understanding of solution selling versus price.
• Knowledge of sales margins, product sourcing, pricing and negotiations.
• Progressive sales accomplishments and strong business acumen expected.
• Post-secondary courses in Sales/Marketing preferred; High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Contact current customers and identify new products; up-sell where possible.
• Respond to and process incoming calls and orders.
• Open new accounts and develop customer base and leads.
• Make cold and warm calls to generate opportunities and close business.
• Enter orders and maintain product knowledge; provide quotes and pricing information.
• Provide technical product support and troubleshoot logistics issues.
• Identify, develop and close business opportunities; perform other duties as assigned.
