Job summary

Randstad Canada seeks a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their Calgary team. You will oversee day-to-day HSE compliance, drive program improvements, coordinate audits, and champion a safety culture across shop floor and office settings.

Reporting to the Material & Safety Manager, this full-time role requires hands-on industrial experience, strong documentation discipline, and the ability to engage a large trades workforce in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of safety experience on welding/heavy fabrication shop floor.
• NCSO designation or OHS certificate/diploma preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a large, fast-paced trades workforce.
• Proficient with MS Office and safety databases/portals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety compliance registries (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta) and oversee safety documentation.
• Review and update Safety Manual, SWPs, and Hazard Assessments.
• Coordinate COR audits and manage WCB claims correspondence.
• Chair Health & Safety Committee meetings and lead safety engagement initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations and coordinate shop/office inspections.
• Conduct safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors.
