Job summary

Academy Fabricators Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS). The role will coordinate documentation, training, compliance, reporting and records management to ensure a safe work environment and regulatory adherence.

You will support internal and external audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across site operations in Onoway, Alberta.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year diploma, or University certification program in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations and related codes.
• Ability to analyze complex information and make timely decisions using solution-based problem solving.
• Demonstrate leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HSE onboarding and maintain employee training records.
• Maintain HSE documentation, templates, records, and SDS.
• Schedule and coordinate HSE meetings, training, drills, and JHSC meetings.
• Prepare meeting agendas, documentation, minutes and safety reports.
• Administer the BBO program, tracking and reporting.
• Maintain HSE databases, compliance records and reporting systems.
• Coordinate training programs, renewals, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with audit preparation and regulatory compliance.
