Job summary

Next Level Group in Concord, ON is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to own safety programs and drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting. This hands-on role requires 2+ years of experience and strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA.

You will conduct inspections, investigations, trainings, and risk assessments, collaborating with HR and maintenance to minimize hazards and ensure compliance. Full-time, day shift, permanent position.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Health & Safety experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and regulations.
  • Proven project management skills with deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and levels.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow-up.
  • Lead accident investigations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee and recommendations.
  • Deliver training and participate in orientations and meetings.
  • Coordinate required training (WHMIS, LOTO, TDG, etc.).
  • Maintain policies, forms, records, and communications.
  • Assist with risk assessments for machinery and tasks.
  • Support WSIB claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Coordinate contractor and visitor safety requirements.

Our client is an established manufacturing organization in the Concord, ON area seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys a hands‑on role and wants to take ownership of safety programs, projects, compliance, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinate and support the organization's Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate accident and incident investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
  • Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee and coordinate follow-up on committee recommendations.
  • Deliver Health & Safety training and participate in new employee orientations and employee meetings.
  • Coordinate required employee training and certifications, including WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, TDG, and other applicable programs.
  • Maintain and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, forms, records, and communication materials.
  • Support ergonomic, environmental, workplace wellness, and heat stress programs.
  • Conduct and support risk assessments for machinery, equipment, and workplace tasks.
  • Assist with WSIB claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Coordinate contractor and visitor safety requirements.
  • Maintain First Aid and PPE supplies and coordinate workplace health initiatives such as hearing testing.
  • Work closely with HR, Maintenance, and other departments to identify hazards and improve workplace safety.
  • Liaise with corporate Health & Safety resources and external agencies as required.
  • Lead and support Health & Safety projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Must Have:
  • 2+ years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a Coordinator-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Education & Certifications
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee Certified Member certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Internal auditing experience is an asset.
  • Experience with H&S management systems such as HSELinx, Sphera, or SharePoint is an asset.
