Job summary

Grain Millers in Yorkton, SK is seeking an Industrial Packaging Operator to join our packaging lines and support safety, quality, and efficiency. You will operate bagging lines, palletizers, and related equipment while performing regular quality and coding checks.

We value experience with packaging lines and food production. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, reading and speaking English, and readiness for 12-hour shifts with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex packaging lines preferred.
• Food manufacturing/packaging experience is an asset.
• Forklift certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Able to lift 50 lbs, work 12-hour shifts, and perform physical tasks.
• Comfortable with heights and exposure to allergens (e.g., grain dust).

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment (bagging lines, tote lines, palletizers, labelers).
• Monitor and test processes at control points.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and read control screens.
• Set up and calibrate lines; ensure materials are stocked; perform quality and coding checks.
• Complete daily documentation (volumes, summaries, operations).
• Use WOW inventory/handheld systems to scan and track orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment (bagging lines, tote lines, palletizers, labelers, etc.)
• Monitor/test processes at metal detector control points
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and read control screens
• Set up and calibrate lines, ensure materials are stocked, perform quality and coding checks
• Complete daily documentation (volumes, summaries, operations)
• Use WOW inventory/handheld systems to scan and track orders
• Support sanitation and follow all food safety guidelines
