Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Milton facility is seeking a licensed Industrial Millwright 433A to join the maintenance team. You will handle preventative, predictive, and troubleshooting of production equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

A satisfactory background check and pre-employment medical are required. The role involves rigorous troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, boiler operation, minor electrical work, and supporting 24/7 operations within a busy corrugated box plant in Milton,

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) required.
• PLC programming and control experience preferred.
• 3-5 years in Canadian manufacturing environment.
• Physically fit with safe work practices.
• Able to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot plant equipment and determine maintenance needs.
• Respond to breakdowns and implement temporary or permanent solutions.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs and lubrication schedules.
• Operate and maintain boiler systems and energy supply.
• Assist with minor electrical repairs and equipment installation.
• Assist in development of the plant occupational health and safety program.
• Support a 24/7 operation.

Career Opportunity

The Smurfit Westrock Milton facility is looking for a licensed Industrial Millwright 433A to work as part of the maintenance team. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the preventative, predictive and troubleshooting of production equipment. All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment medical.

Job Duties

• Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilitates and determines maintenance requirements. Ability to go to root cause of problems. Perform proper follow-up on repairs to implement long term solutions;
• Responds to breakdowns on plant equipment, facilities and buildings. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production;
• Maintains preventative maintenance programs and ensures regular checks and lubrication on all equipment;
• Maintains operation of the boiler systems, heating, steam and energy supply;
• Assist in minor electrical repairs and reset safely;
• Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in equipment design;
• Know what fits are required for various services, including antifriction bearings and be able to make such fits;
• Be able to handle heavy equipment safely and have knowledge of foundation work;
• Assists in the development of the plant occupational health and safety program.;
• Support a 24/7 operation

What You Need To Work At Smurfit Westrock

• High school diploma
• Certified Industrial Millwright 433A license
• PLC programming and String Control experience
• Electrical experience is an asset
• 3-5 years working in a Canadian manufacturing environment
• Technical knowledge
• Positive, can-do attitude/Initiative
• Physically fit
• Able to work rotating shifts: 4 days on/4 days off rotating day/night
