Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Milton facility is seeking a licensed Industrial Millwright 433A to join the maintenance team. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment medical. The role supports a 24/7 operation with rotating 4 days on/4 days off day/night shifts and offers starting wage of $48.48/hour, along with benefits from day one and a company

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3–5 years of experience in a Canadian manufacturing environment.
• PLC programming and String Control experience.
• Electrical experience is an asset.
• Able to work rotating shifts (4 days on/4 days off).
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilities; identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
• Respond to breakdowns on plant equipment, facilities and buildings; determine temporary vs permanent solutions based on production timelines.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs and ensure regular checks and lubrication of all equipment.
• Maintain operation of boiler systems, heating, steam and energy supply.
• Assist in minor electrical repairs and safe resets.
• Assist with installation and occasional design input for plant equipment.
• Select fits for various services, including antifriction bearings, and execute accordingly.
• Ensure safe handling of heavy equipment and knowledge of foundation work.
• Assist in the development of the plant occupational health and safety program.
• Support 24/7 operations.

The Smurfit Westrock Milton facility is looking for a licensed Industrial Millwright 433A to work as part of the maintenance team. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the preventative, predictive and troubleshooting of production equipment.

Job Duties:

• Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilitates and determines maintenance requirements. Ability to go to root cause of problems. Perform proper follow-up on repairs to implement long term solutions;
• Responds to breakdowns on plant equipment, facilities and buildings. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production;
• Maintains preventative maintenance programs and ensures regular checks and lubrication on all equipment;
• Maintains operation of the boiler systems, heating, steam and energy supply;
• Assist in minor electrical repairs and reset safely;
• Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in equipment design;
• Know what fits are required for various services, including antifriction bearings and be able to make such fits;
• Be able to handle heavy equipment safely and have knowledge of foundation work;
• Assists in the development of the plant occupational health and safety program.
• Support a 24/7 operation
