Job summary

West Fraser, Manning Lumber, seeks an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or a 3rd/4th Year Millwright Apprentice to join our maintenance team in Manning, Alberta.

You’ll perform maintenance on pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems, read blueprints, and work with CMMS like Maximo. Must hold a Journeyperson Millwright or be enrolled in the 4th year apprenticeship, with a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• You’ll need a valid Millwright certification or be an apprentice near 4th year.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with other trades and employees.
• Commitment to safe work practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work days, nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, mechanical systems, rollers, bearings, and hydraulics.
• Cost management.
• Use of Maximo and CMMS programs.
• Learn PDM programs and reliability training.
• Undertake preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to repair equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices for installation and repair.
• Work in manlifts with fall protection.
• Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
• Verify and document repairs made.
