Job summary

West Fraser in Smithers, BC is seeking a Full-Time Certified Millwright to join the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will maintain pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and other equipment, perform preventative maintenance, read blueprints, operate hoists, and document repairs.

Candidates must hold a Journeyperson Millwright certification or be a fourth-year apprentice; strong mechanical aptitude, teamwork, safety focus, and flexible shifts across days, nights, and weekends are

• Journeyperson Millwright certification or 4th-year apprentice required.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and hydraulics in manufacturing processes.
• Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during installation and repair.
• Work in manlifts with fall protection equipment.
• Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders; verify and document repairs.
