Job summary

West Fraser in Quesnel, BC, is recruiting for a Millwright to join the on-site maintenance team at Quesnel Plywood. You will perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, saws, and hydraulic systems while following SOPs and lockout protocols.

You must have a Millwright certification or be a fourth-year apprentice, with mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving. Flexibility for day, night, and weekend shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Inter-Provincial or Provincial Millwright certification or be enrolled as a Millwrighting Apprentice in their 4th year.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to work closely with other trades and employees.
• Flexible schedule for days, nights, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work safely using SOPs, lockouts and protocols, and complete PTHAs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, belt/chain transfer, drive systems, saws, debarking, sorting, stacking and compressors.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during assembly, installation, setup and repair.
• Work in man-lifts with fall protection equipment.
• Repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves and cylinders.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
