Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machine Builder for a contract role in Windsor, ON. You will assemble, install, and integrate mechanical systems and automation equipment, following engineering drawings and build docs. This role emphasizes precision, safety, and collaboration with engineering and project teams.

The position is onsite in Windsor with a typical Monday–Friday day shift. You will help establish build processes in a brand-new facility, supporting timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling industrial machinery, automation equipment, or custom mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly prints.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot.
• Knowledge of pneumatic components and basic pneumatic system installation.
• Attention to detail to ensure assemblies meet design specifications.
• Experience as a machine builder, mechanical assembler, or mechanical technician.
• Ability to work under the direction of a Machine Build Leader and within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and machine components according to engineering drawings and build documentation.
• Install machine guarding, framework, linear motion components, and mechanical hardware.
• Assemble and integrate automation equipment and custom machinery for industrial applications.
• Perform machine setup, alignment, and adjustment activities to ensure proper operation.
• Install and connect basic pneumatic components and tubing in accordance with specifications.
• Verify that all assemblies meet quality standards and design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical fit-up and assembly issues as they arise.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment safely and effectively during builds.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to support and meet project timelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop practices.
• Work under the guidance of a Machine Build Leader as the second Machine Builder on the floor.
• Coordinate with team members responsible for pneumatic and electrical assembly to ensure seamless integration of systems.
