Job summary

Mecsmart Systems, located in Newmarket, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team. You will perform precise alignments, install pneumatic systems, and troubleshoot tooling to ensure high-quality assemblies.

Ideal candidates have metalworking credentials, own tools, and the ability to travel globally for installations and service, contributing to our World Class Manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification in Precision Metals (General Machinist, Mould Maker, Tool & Die Maker) or Millwright.
• Must supply and maintain own personal trade tools.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in automation equipment assembly.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel globally for installations and service.

Responsibilities

• Precision alignments and set ups of mechanical components.
• Installation of pneumatic components.
• Troubleshoot, identify, and modify tooling.
• Document all build changes.
• Install components by following schematics, drawings and specifications.
• Installation of all plumbing for actuation of components.
• Manufacture tooling as needed/directed.
• Maintain 5S and visual plant floor.
• Ensure safe work environment and adherence to codes.

Job Opportunity:

Mecsmart is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Builder to join our team. You’ll be responsible for carrying out tasks and duties to ensure maximum efficiency & productivity is attained during equipment assembly. Work with emphasis on excellent craftmanship & quality. Excellent technical knowledge & skill. Ensure all environmental, health & safety standards are met. High energy with excellent communication. Strive towards World Class Manufacturing (WCM). This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex problems. We offer opportunities at Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels, depending on experience and skill set.

What you’ll do:

• Precision alignments & set ups of mechanical
  components
• Installation of pneumatic components
• Troubleshoot, identify, & modify tooling
• Identify any material or purchase item issues
• Document all build changes
• Install components by following schematics,
  drawings & specifications
• Installation of all plumbing required for the
  actuation of components
• Manufacture tooling as needed/directed
• Operational excellence & discipline (WCM)
• Utilize toolroom equipment as needed
• Support problem solving during assembly,
  warranty or service
• Maintain a 5S & visual plant floor
• Ensure active communication throughout the
  build process that includes status of day to day
  tasks or problems encountered
• Establish & maintain a safe work environment
• Support equipment tear downs, packaging,
  rigging, transportation & installation
• Adherence to all applicable codes & standards

What you’ll need:
