Job summary

BBA Consultants in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an Intermediate Industrial HVAC and Building Services Engineer with 3–8 years of experience. You will design HVAC and building systems for complex industrial facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients to deliver high-performance solutions.

You will contribute to energy recovery, decarbonization and electrification projects, while developing expertise in fire protection, piping and other services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in HVAC, industrial building services, heat recovery, thermal power systems or cooling.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
• Available for occasional short-term assignments outside the office.
• Experience in industrial, mining or energy sectors is an asset.
• Intermediate French skills are an asset for collaboration with Québec offices and clients.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial building service systems, including HVAC, cooling and heating loops, heat recovery, plumbing, fire protection and compressed air systems.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, drawings and other engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to decarbonization, electrification and energy recovery projects in the industrial sector.
• Coordinate the work of designers, drafters and other team members.
• Take ownership of design reviews, budgets and schedules.
• Build relationships with clients and partners through clear communication and quality work.
• Support proposals, studies and reports for future projects.
