Tools
- Assists with implementation of project or facility HSE plans (PSP, ERP, EPP, Security) and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in conducting and identifying when project or facility specific training is required
- Assists project team or facility with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assists with the creation of trend action plans.
- Assists with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g., Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA), and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Assists in the implementation of Frontline Work Planning (FLWP). Evaluates for completeness and follows up where appropriate.
- Completion of I-CAB assessment report and working toward I-CAB development plan when necessary (CDN).
- Assists with identification and monitoring of appropriate site personal protective
- equipment (PPE).
- Assists project management and supervision with the implementation of the emergency response plan.
- Assists project management and supervision with the monitoring of project security requirements.
- Assists with the implementation and monitoring of the environmental plan.
- Participates in internal and external audits as assigned.
- Prepares reports on trade partners’ safety performance.
- Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) or a related discipline.
- Holds safety designation such as National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Occupational Safety and Health Administrator (OSHA) 30 Hours in Construction Card
- Intermediate knowledge of construction, industrial processes, and terminology (e.g., engineered drawings and scheduling).
- Basic ability to provide coaching and mentoring to others.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable OH&S, environmental, and workers’ compensation within assigned legislative jurisdictions.
- Intermediate ability to implement HSE processes.
- Intermediate planning, organization, and time management skills to establish the priority and scheduling of work tasks.
- Ability to influence the project team and craft workers regarding HSE responsibilities.
- Intermediate ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
- Proven communication and presentation skills.
- Intermediate ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Proven knowledge of incident investigation and event learning models and may train junior HSE team members on these models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
