Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify installations to the facility’s electrical systems, in a professional and timely fashion, as required.
- Determine the impact of work, communicate to department management and customers to schedule activities to reduce impact on production schedules.
- Work with users, other facility staff, and vendors to provide electrical expertise and to evaluate the effectiveness of systems in order to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facilities and for continuous improvements.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, adjust, repair, calibrate, and install all types of electrical equipment having complex interlocking (i.e. controllers, motors, or other transmission equipment).
- Install, maintain, and repair facility lighting systems.
- Improvise acceptable temporary alterations to allow continued safe operations.
- Compile and maintain all information and documentation relevant to the position (Maintenance Work Orders, ESA Log Book, update drawings, files, records, manuals, etc.).
- Utilize standard electricians' hand tools, measuring, and testing instruments.
- Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, established safety standards, specifications, regulations, and codes.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Industrial Electrician and/or Construction and Maintenance Electrician License, valid in Ontario, Canada (309A or 442A Journeyperson) required.
- Three (3) years’ experience in electrical maintenance/construction.
- Experience in a large-scale manufacturing and/or continuous process environment is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail, developed analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to work well under pressure.
- Commitment to safety and the environment.
Work Conditions / Schedule:
- Able to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis; work at heights and work in dusty environments.
- Able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to operate basic mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic (computerized) controls safely and efficiently.
- Overtime as required; ability to work any shift including weekends as required.
