INVISTA Canada's nylon manufacturing site located in Kingston Ontario has immediate openings in our Maintenance Team for experienced Industrial Electricians. Come build your career with us!

What You Will Do

• Industrial electricians are primarily responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in accordance with our Environmental, Health, and Safety practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Assist in the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
• Provide training for the operating shift team members and apprentices to build capability within the team.
• Type of work can include but is not limited to troubleshooting, installing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment, that may include motors, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and electrical distribution equipment.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Hold a current Certificate of Qualification 442A License as an Industrial Electrician or 309A as a Construction & Maintenance Electrician.
• As a licensed Industrial Electrician, with at least 3 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, refining, or chemical facility.
• Experience with complex troubleshooting equipment, finding root causes, and developing solutions.
• Availability and willingness to work shifts, on-call, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Able to work in a tobacco-free environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience as an industrial electrician supporting a powerhouse including equipment such as steam boilers, water treatment, and air compressors.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls.
• Experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, use of mobile technologies (tablets, phones, etc.), use of apps, wi-fi connected technology.
